    Course Catalog

Credit: Credit will be awarded at the end of each semester for each class passed. If you fail a class, you will not receive any credit for the course and you will not progress toward graduation. 90% attendance is required for all classes.

Required: This term refers to specific courses that must be taken sometime during a student's high school career. For example, four (4) credits of English must be earned before a student will be allowed to graduate.

Prerequisite: This term indicates a course that must be successfully completed before another course may be taken. It may also refer to passing a placement test that must be given by the instructor of a particular course.

Elective: This term refers to any course that is not a required course. Examples of elective courses include courses in Family & Consumer Science or Business. In addition, if a student has met the minimum graduation requirement in a particular subject area, each additional course successfully completed in that area is counted as an elective for that student.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    What is a Pathway?

A pathway is a list of suggested courses for each of the six career clusters.

Do I have to choose a Pathway?

Yes. In order to prepare you for post-secondary education and careers, the pathways are designed to guide you in understanding the course sequence and help you with course selection.

What if I don’t know which Pathway to choose?

Counselors will be meeting with students and parents to help guide them in selecting a path using the inventory results and input from both student and parent.

    Can I change Pathways?

Yes. Visit with your school counselor if you are interested in changing pathways.

Do I need to choose alternate classes when filling out my Course Request Form?

Yes. Be careful in your choice of alternatives because it is very likely that one or more may be used in order to complete your registration. Classes sometimes are canceled due to lack of enrollment, limits on class size, and/or scheduling conflicts. This may cause you not to receive a course(s) that you select.
